in a funk
Yes. I am in a complete funk today. It started yesterday. I found the bed set I want (from the Land of Nod) on ebay.
so, I emailed Matt
Hey Matt, What do you think of this baby bedding? Do you think it would match with a yellow room? It is normally really expensive, but I found the quilt and the baby bumper on ebay for less than half the normal price. What do you think?
he replies
What is the "baby bumper"?
I don't exactly know the real reason for a bumper other than too look cute, really. I replied
It is the part that you can see going around the inside of the crib. So the baby doesn’t stick itself through the slats. (hee)
M:
Does this bumper fit any size crib? I'm afraid that it won't fit whatever crib we get. How much $$ are we talking here?
K:
Yep, they are supposed to fit any size crib. Normally the quilt and the bumper together would be $150. Right now the bid on ebay is $50, but there is seven hours yet, so it may go up. But I could bit whatever I want. This bedding was expensive to begin with, but baby bedding in general is pretty pricey.
He takes for ever to respond so I email him back and I guess he was researching, he emails me
In one minute I found a similar six piece baby crib set for $129 brand new on the internet at dreamtimebaby.com (snuggle bug collection).I also found two different 4 piece crib sets brand new for $43 at Wal-Mart that are similar.
Based on this I don't know if the quilt and bumper below is such a good deal?
so I have to go see what he thinks is "similiar"
uh...and this is what he thinks looks like that. And no offense to those who like this style, but it is SO NOT ME
So I replied
Okay, the problem with the snuggle bug one and the Walmart ones is that it is sooooo cutesy. I don’t really want cute little characters or anything like that. I just want something with a nice pattern on it. Something that won’t be annoying. I have looked a lot for bedding that I really like, and I DO like other bedding, but the stuff I liked was more expensive. The cheaper stuff all seems to have lots of big crazy things on it. I can show you some others I like, but they are more like sets for $200 or so.
M:
I'm sorry, but I think it's foolish to spend more than we have too on baby bedding that will get spit up on and urinated on when there will be so many other baby expense that we will need to take care of also. I think $65 should be the absolute highest bid that you should make for the set that you found on e-bay.
So I bid up to $76 (oh come on, what is $11). Then someone outbid me by a dollar. So I figure I would wait until the auction is about to end and then sneak in with a bit of a higher bid. (I REALLY want this stuff). Just then our home computer crashed. It is officially dead. Not that the computer itself is a loss at all. We bought it for $50 from one of his coworkers and it is an ancient thing. BUT it did work for the internet, and it was such an horrible time for it to crash. So yep, I check this morning andthe person DID win it for $77. ugh.
Then I had... um, ordered a doppler. Because I am anal and stupid and I just worry to much anyway. I figure why not just be at peace and not worry about the baby every single second of the day when I can just listen to the heartbeat? It was supposed to arrive yesterday. All the way home I was super excited about using it. Get home, it isn't there. And it was guaranteed to be there THAT day. Called them and we are in an extended shipping area. So it comes today. Stupid thing to get crabby about. But you must remember, I am just crabby in general now, so it doesn't take much.
Oh, and then I went to the store to get some ingredients for a dip I was CRAVING badly. Came home and found that our mayo that Matt had said we had and said was fine was past the expiration date, so no dip for me. Again...it doesn't take much.
And now, I just called home to make sure our answering machine works (our internet has it all messed up). I thought it should work, because we have our internet unplugged and the computer turned off. Nope. Still doesn't work. So if the hospital would try to call with our results... we are out of luck. Argh!
And the results. I get a knot in my stomach everytime I think about it. Just knowing that they could call us by the end of the week to tell us what the outcome is is crazy. Like our whole life could change at that moment. It is scary.
On another note. I went maternity shopping this weekend. I don't NEED to wear maternity yet, but it is ever so much more comfortable. And boy do I look PREGNANT in it. Got some cute stuff though.
Oh! And I am almost positive I felt the baby move. I was sitting and talking to my mom on Sunday and I felt a something. Told mom I thought the baby was moving and then I felt a DISTINCT something. Not a kick, but something that just felt like something was inside me moving. It was amazing. I was very distracted by it. Haven't felt anything quite that distinct since, so I am not completely sure, but if that wasn't the baby then I have something very weird going on. heee.
okay off to work. or something of the sort

Men just don't understand!!! :)
Glad everything went ok! :) you've been in my thoughts Krystal.
oh, and I hate when I go to the store to pick up the stuff for something I want to make and then I get home and the one thing I have isn't good anymore. DRIVES ME INSANE!! So I feel ya! LOL
Take Care!!
No baby bumpers. They are kinda hazardous.
And yes - bedding is expensive so put it on a registry and HOPE that someone buys if for you so that you can never use it LOL. Seriously, every piece of advice I get is that it's cute but a waste cause you hardly ever use it.
I'll be back to post more - I have to go for my sonogram.
